In the time before Christmas we are thinking specifically of the events around the birth of Christ. But already in the Old Testament here were people who were preparing for his coming. Together we are All over the world christians are suffering, because of their faith in Christ. For a lot of christians their conversion to our Lord does not bring a better life of happiness but a instead a life full of suffering. Why then do they still turn to him? We will take a look into God's word together to find answer so this question and thereby find out that God's promises far outweigh any suffering in this world. Furthermore we will also stand united in prayer with our brothers and sisters all over the world and pray for them.
In order for us to pass on love, we need to be aware how Jesus loved us like crazy. Ther is a present uncertainty in our economy. What difference does it make to be a Christian when the crisis strikes?
What defines who I am? Despite our current state, the Lord welcomes and invites us to come to Him for spiritual renewal. His Words are simple: "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." God is looking at our inside not on what we display on our outside. Jesus is calling and he calls us to follow him. Why is he doing that and what does that mean for us? And what holds you back from answering this call? Martin talks about how a hidden sin made his life and missionary work frustrating and bringing it to light and asking for forgivness started a change. Faith like a mustard seed. However relationships are not alwasy easy: They can cause us to suffer or to rest and be happy. In our culture to have good relationships is not an easy task. But the Lord can give us wisdom to see the need and the possibilities.Thus let's stretch out to him! What do you look at when life gets though? What are you living for? What can we learn when we look at the life of people from the bible in order to get answers to those questions? We will try to find that out as we look into God's word and first of all we are looking forward to our focus being drawn on God in our time together. |
